By: MICHAEL ROSE
Long Island, New York native, Michael Rose whose brilliant trumpet virtuoso technique most resembles the style of the great Harry James made South Florida his home in 1988. Since 1990, the Michael Rose Orchestra with its unique library representing the famous bands of the Swing era has thrilled audiences at the Boca Raton Resort and Club, Donald Trump’s Mar a Lago and The Breakers, Palm Beach and other exclusive venues from Miami to Orlando. The inexorable quality of Big Band era standards authentically recreated by Michael Rose, his 17 piece orchestra and his outstanding new vocal group, “The Rosebuds” appeals to concertgoers, and country club audiences alike. An expanded version of the orchestra with strings often accompanies the major artists who visit South Florida each season. This list includes, Maureen McGovern, Bernadette Peters, Frank Sinatra, Jr., The Temptations, Don Rickles, Tommy Tune, Neal Sedaka, Paul Anka, Tony Bennett, Al Martino, Billy Joel, Frankie Avalon, Debbie Boone, Johnnie Mathis and Wayne Newton. The Michael Rose Orchestra is the official orchestra of WXEL, Palm Beach TV42 and 90.7FM, PBS and NPR stations serving the Palm Beaches and the Treasure Coast.
