A Review:
On this CD. I recall my sister buying the LP version back in 1961, when I was in high school. I also recall liking it a great deal. Finally, I recently acquired this edition, but I was disappointed. The reality does not match my memory. I like Peggy, and I've heard a lot more of her recordings since those days. On here, she is not in the best of voice, and she is pretty casual in her approach to some of the songs. A Lee album that falls below her very best is still ahead of many other female jazz/pop singers, however. "Day in, Day out" is probably my favorite performance on this one. You will get a sense of what it was like to see and hear her live in the '60's, but for repeated listening pleasure, I think there are several studio albums that surpass this.
