GET DOWN WITH THE DICKNESS!
America's loudest lounge singer Richard Cheese is back in black tie with "TUXICITY," an all-new CD featuring kooky lounge-style covers of rock hits. With his swingin' Lounge Against The Machine band, the finger-snapping, liquor-lapping, night-capping crooner turns a round of rock songs into traditional pop vocal standards.
Yes, it's the perfect mix of music, martini, and madcap as Dick delivers shaken and stirring Vegas versions of popular hits like "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot, "She Hates Me" by Puddle Of Mudd, "Chop Suey" by System Of A Down, "Shake Ya Ass" by Mystikal, and "Hot For Teacher" by Van Halen. From The White Stripes to White Zombie, from Linkin Park to Cypress Hill, from Guns 'N Roses to Britney Spears, "TUXICITY" is a "fromage homage" to the biggest names in music.
About the Artist
Richard Cheese is best known for his popular "Lounge Against The Machine" and "TUXICITY" CDs, which receive regular coast to coast radio airplay on major market morning shows. Cheese has toured the nation, performing his special brand of cover-age on NBC's Last Call With Carson Daly (as the show's Vegas house band), CNN, Fox News Channel's Fox & Friends Morning Show, The Howard Stern Show, SPIKE-TV, and MTV's Say What Karaoke series. He is now headlining monthly in Las Vegas; Richard Cheese & Lounge Against The Machine has opened for The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Finch, El Vez, Lit, and even entertained at Blink182 drummer Travis Barker's wedding.
Richard Cheese is a lounge singer; it says so right on his business card. For what seems like years, Cheese has been treating speakeasy audiences to his unique blend of belt and heartfelt, a journeyman saloonster's story told through imagery, phrasing, and a beat-up microphone. His snazzy jackets, his notoriously elegant "personalle," and his occasional on-stage tirades belie the sensitively complex artiste behind the ever-jostling highball.
The versatile vocalist was born in the swingin' 1960's in a Henderson, Nevada hospital, just like Frank Sinatra (although that hospital was in New Jersey). He spent his childhood singing on casino corners for chips, and eventually landed a job as understudy for one of the white tigers in the Siegfried & Roy show.
Legend has it that either Wayne Newton, Don Ho, the comedy/variety team of Bobby Vann & Elayne Joyce, or a combination of the three/four "discovered" Cheese, and arranged for his first lounge gig, at the Sands on the Vegas Strip. However, Cheese mistakenly showed up at the Dunes ("Dunes, Sands, what's the diff, huh? Jeez!"), but sang nonetheless, and his performance literally brought the house down, as the Dunes Hotel was imploded by a demolition crew during his act. Fortunately, his performance impressed Las Vegas talent impresario and TNT expert Jack Monterey, who recognized Cheese's explosive star power and snapped up the crooner on the spot.
Monterey put Cheese into a recording studio, and a few months later, put a microphone and a recording engineer into the studio with him. Now, seventeen albums and a thousand concerts later, Richard Cheese has earned a prominent place in that prestigious pantheon of lounge legends: Frank ... Sammy ... Dean ................ and Dick.
