This a 4 disc set of 60 songs of WWII all digitally remastered. The discs come in a plastic jewel case with each disc separated. The set includes a booklet of program notes which lists each song, It tells about the with background, the orchestra's name, singer's name, and important information about where the song originated, that types of places where it might have been heard, etc. Included are photos of many of the important stars and artistic renderings of the times. Each song is listed in the booklet that comes in the box with the 4 disc set. The songs are grouped into subheadings such as, Americas' Sweethearts, G.I. Jive, When the Lights go on Again, etc. There are many hours of listening pleasure and memories of the period of WWII in America, it's hear aches, hard times, and life changing memories.

A Review:

It is a great compilation of all the right songs performed by the artists that made them famous. It's a shame that Reader's Digest no longer offers this multi-disc collection. There are a lot of people over age 55 who would buy it. The collection was playing at a store I was shopping in. Before I left the store I asked about the music and wrote down the information and ordered the collection that afternoon from Amazon. The shop owner said I was the 4th person that had done so over recent months -- everytime the store chose to play it.
This is the first review I've ever written about anything I've purchased. It will probably be my last. The feeling I get listening to these 4 discs for some hours is one I really like!
